Deseret News Caption: Utah's first draftees - 66 of them - boarded special cars Wednesday evening [September 20, 1950] en route to Ft. Riley, Kan. More will be on their way Thursday. Most of them went with nothing much more than a toothbrush and the clothes on their backs. The Army will take care of the rest. Places in Memory

This page is primarily for members of my family. Included is Part 1 of my Army Service Diary: September 1950 - July 1951. This is not a war diary. Part 2 of my Army Service Diary is currently lost. I hope to find it eventually and place it here. It covers assignment from Valley Forge Army Hospital in Pennsylvania to the EUCOM Quartermaster School in Lenggries, Bavaria, Germany. It also covers my teaching assignment there, and tours in Europe before returning to the United States and honorable discharge from the Service at Camp Carson, Colorado in 1952.
