Why still a Pfc after 2 years? Good question! Actually, I was scheduled for advancement three times at the QM School in Germany, but I successfully resisted each time, since it meant that I would be confined to the school weekends for duty with the officer of the day. That idea I did not like, since I enjoyed spending my weekends at the service club in Bad Tolz, at the home of the Hohenakers in Bad Tolz and the Dellings in Lenggries, and with friends Bonnie Burton (no relation) and Sgt. Herbert Hartrum (both fellow teachers) at Bonnie's apartment in Bad Tolz and sometimes in Munich.
